A Place at the Table opened as a pay-what-you-can café at 300 W. Hargett St in downtown Raleigh. We are a welcoming and inviting space that provides an opportunity for all people to come and experience conversation and community while enjoying an excellent, fresh, and healthy meal.
Designed For Joy provides women in crisis with stability through immediate employment and support, removing the stigma of vulnerability. The core values of our mission are: Communications, Hospitality, Advocacy, Inclusivity and Respect (C.H.A.I.R). We aim to have a C.H.A.I.R available for every woman in crisis who needs a safe and dignified job. We envision a community where every woman has the opportunity to earn a living wage through safe and dignified work.
Esteamed Coffee is a 501(c)3 non-profit cafe located in downtown Cary, NC. We employ individuals with various disabilities, most of whom have never had a meaningful employment opportunity before. Our team is on a mission to lower the unemployment rate and increase the quality of life for adults with intellectual, developmental, communication, and/or visual disabilities by creating meaningful jobs and social opportunities in a warm, supportive environment.
Farmer Foodshare is a Triangle-based food hub whose mission is to increase access to fresh, local food for all and to support the viability of marginalized NC farmers to create an equitable food system. It's a win-win for farmers and the food insecure. This nonprofit buys produce from local farmers and distributes it to schools, nonprofits, and communities in need.
Through our partnership with the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s Department of Psychiatry, the Foundation funds critical research focused on understanding the root causes of, and potential treatments for, mental illness. We are also committed to raising awareness and supporting effective treatment programs. We are resolute in our belief that our mission is as relevant today as it was when Thad and Alice Eure began this journey in 1984.

HopeLine has been in Raleigh since 1970. HopeLine provides a crisis intervention and suicide prevention hotline where people can call or text to reach a volunteer who will provide caring, supportive, non-judgmental listening and resource referral services. HopeLibe volunteers respond to more than 800 callers/testers per month who reach out to the crisis/text lines.
Journeymen mentors adolescent males (ages 13-19) during their transformation to becoming men. Our mentors model positive muscle traits and nurture self-awareness and emotional growth, while challenging and assisting boys to discover their unique gifts. We honor their emerging masculinity and youthful energy alike. In short, we help teenage boys grow into men.
At Meals on Wheels of Wake County, we provide our homebound and senior neighbors with a nutritious hot meal, along with a check-in and visit. Our services provide the opportunity for seniors to continue living well nourished, independent and safe lives, in their own homes and communities.
Meg’s Smile Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) charitable organization that provides special days out or gifts to children affected by serious illnesses who are treated in North Carolina hospitals. Our mission is to bring smiles to the faces of these children and their families while they are going through what can be a very long and emotional journey.
Established 2019 in Raleigh, N.C. and formally known as The North Carolina Warriors Ice Hockey Program. The Carolina Hurricanes Warriors Program is a disabled veteran's ice hockey team that exists to benefit disabled veterans from the United States Military Services. They are one of 21 USA Hockey Warriors teams in the nation.
Open Table Ministry seeks out and guides those experiencing homelessness and poverty to long-term health and wholeness by building ongoing trusting relationships, meeting practical and personal needs, making connections to community resources, and bridging critical gaps in the social services system.
Our vision is to establish in prison, transitional, and community based Christian programming for justice-involved individuals throughout North Carolina. This is demonstrated with bible study, church services, and mentoring programs in both adult and youth facilities.
The foundation assists with paying for medical treatments for cancer patients. The doctor who founded the organization discovered that many of her patients were not getting the follow-up treatments necessary due to the lack of money. The foundation has paid for thousands of treatments for breast cancer patients in North Carolina.
The Shelton Leadership Center’s vision is to positively impact values-based leadership behavior throughout pre-college, university, within the corporate and business community, and eventually across the nation and world. Exposing individuals to the value of disciplined, purposeful action in the multiple “playing fields” of life, and providing tools to accomplish this, is a key component of the Center’s programs, as are collaboration, cooperation, communication, and partnership.
ShopSpace is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization created by craft enthusiasts, particularly in metal and woodwork, aiming to share their passion and empower others to create. The organization prioritizes safety, support, creativity, and accessibility, beginning its programming with a focus on metalworking, with plans to evolve according to community needs. Future plans include expanding into woodworking, textiles, and other crafts requiring expensive infrastructure and tools, aiming to be a dynamic, self-supporting entity that offers various opportunities for building, learning, and playing.
The Snow Approach Foundation, Inc.’s mission is to foster the development of a neurodiverse, inclusive community where people living with various forms of dementia or other neurocognitive conditions and their care partners are enabled to live fully to the best of their ability for the good of the whole community. Through a combination of services for people living with brain changes and those who support them, community members will gain awareness, appreciation, knowledge, and skills to adapt to brain changes at any age while living well in a supportive and accepting place.
The SPCA of Wake County operates two animal shelters and a low-cost spay/neuter clinic. The SPCA is an independent animal welfare organization that was founded in 1967. The shelter transfers in over 4000 animals from Wake and surrounding county shelters. The SPCA focuses its programs on pets AND people with a goal of ending euthanasia of adoptable animals by the year 2025.
As a private nonprofit, United Arts has worked for more than 25 years to build a better Raleigh and Wake County through support of and advocacy for the arts. These funds bring life-changing arts education to our schools and municipalities. They provide artists with resources and opportunities to share their work, and teachers with innovative training.
White Plains Children’s Center is a special non-profit inclusion based 5 STAR child care center. To create a stimulating and nurturing environment where children of all abilities, regardless of socio-economic or cultural background, can grow and learn together in acceptance of one another.
